New Restaurants Getting Attention in Howard County
Downtown Columbia is abuzz with the newest restaurants opening around Howard County, particularly at Merriweather District.
Harry Evans III, chairman of Howard County’s Alcoholic Beverage Hearing Board has enthusiastically supported new restaurants, including new-to-Downtown Columbia establishments. New restaurants in Merriweather District include Peter Chang and Toastique, both of which opened in early 2023. Additional restaurants scheduled to open in the coming months include Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, Banditos Tacos & Tequila, Caribbean-inspired The Angry Jerk, Kyo Matcha, and popular steak and fries chain Medium Rare.
The new restaurants join a long list of popular destinations in Merriweather District including Clove & Cardamom and Dok Khao Thai Eatery.
Local owners look to differentiate themselves from the expected, both in cuisine and atmosphere, so it’s no surprise that so many have gravitated to Downtown Columbia.
