Introducing the Lakefront Library
Downtown Columbia is proud to support County Executive Calvin Ball, the Howard County Library System, and the Howard County Housing Commission in their announcement with plans for building the brand-new Lakefront Library. The library will be built on an existing parking lot (next to Whole Foods, and nearby Merriweather District). It is expected to open in 2027, and is scoped to meet current needs and meet the needs identified by emerging trends. Families and organizations in Columbia, Maryland will be able to use classroom space, teen space, and provide ample parking for its growing community.
Downtown Columbia continues to grow its retail space, office and conference space, hotels, and build even more mixed-income housing for our community. We can’t wait to see this vision come to life.
